RenewCanada's Grid Tie Systems

With so much talk about grid-tie solar systems we have decided to design a few systems between 1,000 watts (1 kilowatt) and 10,000 watts (10 kilowatts).

Please click here for information regarding Ontario's new Feed-In-Tariff program that pays up to 80.2 cents a kilowatt hour for solar energy fed into the grid.

In general it costs about 10 dollars per watt of installed grid tie solar systems. If you are able to find a deal on your equipment (like the systems below) and are able to do some of the work yourself you can bring that cost down.

Grid tie systems consist of very few components as follows:

• Solar Array
• Solar Module Mounting Hardware
• Grid Tie Inverter
• AC Disconnect
• DC Disconnect

As you can see grid tied systems are very straight forward compared to off grid systems.
